Writer - Director - Producer
Michael Dugan is a direct response advertising and marketing specialist who is an award winning writer, director, and producer for both long-form infomercials and short form DRTV spots. He has extensive experience in product naming, branding strategies, market planning, and direct response advertising across all media including TV, radio, print, online e-commerce, e-mail, and social media.
Some of his most successful commercial campaigns include "Emeril Lagasse Pizza Grill", "Shaq Smokeless Grill & Press", "PowerXL Air Fryer Oven", "The Genie Bra", "Flexable Hose", "The Snuggie", and the "Roomba Robotic Vacuum Cleaner".
He also created national commercials for Nyquil, Cool Whip Topping, Gravy Train, and Cycle Dog Food. Michael specializes in diabetes and Medicare specific direct response campaigns, and created them for NationsHealth, CIGNA insurance, and the Diabetes Care Club.
Michael is an award winning director and writer of feature films, Movies of the Week, Soap Operas, and syndicated television programs. His programs have won 5 Emmy awards, and his feature film, "Raging Hormones" won "Best Director" and "Best Comedy" at the New York Independent Film Festival. It was a favorite on HBO and CineMax, and in international distribution.
Michael has earned writing credits on: "Days of Our Lives", "Loving", "Santa Barbara", and "General Hospital". As a screenwriter, he sold over fifteen feature films and Movie-of-the-Week scripts to Tri-Star Pictures, Columbia Pictures, SONY, NBC, and several independent production companies. Michael also wrote and directed the Disney Channel television series: "Mousercise".
He started writing commercials at Benton & Bowles Advertising in New York (now Publicis), and then moved to Los Angeles where he wrote screenplays, network soap-operas, and television commercials.
He has a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Maryland, and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
